Ballet

   provides a solid foundation for all other forms of dance and also forms the basis for discipline, creativity and appreciation of dance as an art form. Students are motivated to strive for excellence in technique, grace and poise, with additional emphasis on strength, energy and athleticism.


Tap

   is an intricate form of dance with the feet as well as the body. Tap enhances rhythmic dynamics, speed and agility. Traditional and Contemporary tap styles are taught, with a focus on total body movement, technical correctness and performance quality.


Jazz

   is recommended to develop style, strength and versatility. Students are encouraged to explore many styles such as Classical Jazz, Blues, Latin, Rock and Hip Hop, to name a few.

 

Lyrical (must also be enrolled in Level 2 or above Ballet class & have had at least 1 year of Jazz class)

   is a combination of jazz, modern and ballet techniques incorporating balance control and musical interpretation.


Pointe (12 years or older & by invitation; Pointe: must also be enrolled in Level 3 & above Ballet class)

   Students are invited to take Pointe when their strength and technical achievement reaches a level where the additional challenge would benefit their classical ballet training.


Musical Theatre (must also be enrolled in a Jazz class)

   A class in which students learn a routine incorporating a song from a "Broadway" or movie musical, or portray a character from a play or movie with acting, singing and choreography indicative of the original piece.


Hip Hop (must have had at least one season of Jazz class)

   Street-style jazz that focuses more on the definition of sharp contractions and smooth rhythmatic transitions. Acro tricks are not taught.
